We also celebrated the Queen's Diamond Jubilee with fantastic street parties and many Cleethorpes people and visitors mourned the last ever (or as we thought at the time) Cleethorpes Carnival. Until later this year it was announced it will be back for 2013!
We had the first ever Festival of Flight across Cleethorpes beach including the world-famous Red Arrows and the first ever Military Tattoo at the Meridian Park.
And you Cleethorpes people gave all those events and many more, your full support.
Meanwhile we had a hose pipe ban during one the wettest periods of rain-fall Cleethorpes has ever known!
Later on in the year local Tetney girl Ella Henderson was a sure favourite in ITV's X Factor along with Cleethorpes-born Micky Parsons in the District3 boy-band they battled it out singing week after week in the live shows until they were both voted off.
The Cleethorpes Pier closed and will now be up for auction soon.
Enough already lets just look back in our picture galleries on what you Cleethorpes people have been doing during truly a brilliant year in Cleethorpes - bring on 2013!
