433% parking permits rise has been delayed
A PROPOSED 433 per cent rise in the cost of parking permits has been delayed to allow two petitions opposing the plan to be considered.
North East Lincolnshire Council had announced the annual cost of a residents only parking permit would rise from £15 to £80 from November 1.
It is currently carrying out a consultation to allow residents to either agree to the new fee or opt out of the scheme.
Petitioners will now be able to make their case for a less severe price hike before Cabinet at a meeting on November 5.
