A pilot took place during November and December with four young people and their families which received a positive response.

One of the youngsters who attended said:

"It's been the most fun way of keeping fit and I’ve really enjoyed attending and I feel fitter. I really enjoyed the interactive floor and the dance mats and the music are good."

Councillor Ros James, portfolio holder for housing and well being said:

"This programme, developed by the Healthy Weight Partnership, in conjunction with Everyone Active, is a fresh approach to keeping active in a safe and engaging environment. Parents can be assured that their children are getting quality instruction and lifestyle advice to support them to lead healthier lifestyles. This is not a gym as we know it, its entertaining, on trend and above all fun."

The cost of the programme is an upfront fee of £15. '5IVE Active' members will also be able to access an additional session on a Saturday during the ten weeks, encouraging young people to be active on at least two days of the week for 75p a session.
