Allen fends off Stu
GRIMSBY cueman Stuart Carrington made the second round of the Betfair European Tour Event Three, in Belgium, before bowing out to world number nine Mark Allen.
The former professional beat three amateurs, Jan Goossens, Oliver Lines and Phil Barnes, to reach the second hurdle of the main draw.

Allen, who beat Carrington 4-1, went on to win the competition in Antwerp. He saw off Mark Selby in the final with a 4-1 triumph.
Carrington also lost to the eventual winner, Rod Lawler, in the second round of last month's UK Players Tour Championship Event Three.
