Ammonia leak at Grimsby factory

A WOMAN has been treated by paramedics after an ammonia leak at a Grimsby factory.

Firefighters were called to the Young's Bluecrest seafood factory, in Humberston Road, at about 10.50am today.

Fire crews stood by while staff from the factory dealt with the leak, which was isolated quickly.

Investigations into the cause are ongoing.

    “Unfortunatly these things do happen in food factories even with the most secure conditions amonia eats thru pipes its very corrosive in liquid form when not pumped along the unit when there is a breakdown hope she will e ok i once had amonia inhailed its not a good feeling but you do recover if not burnt inside lungs”
