CLEETHORPES rock singer Andy Wood will be singing a tune or two at a new regional entertainment venue.

The American Anthems musical will take place on Saturday, February 11, at the new Baths Hall, in Scunthorpe and, for the first time, Andy will be presenting a host of American rock covers featuring the legendary Elvis, Meatloaf, Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen and British favourites, Queen.

He will be joined by legendary rock singer John Parr, who will be a guest star joining the rest of the cast on their UK tour.

Andy said: "I'm very excited for the tour and I can't wait to get stuck in.

"I enjoy representing where I come from because I think it is important. It's nice to play local and I cannot wait to get on stage because I love performing. I've had a lot of people wanting to see the show like friends and family."

Andy hit the tribute circuit after his performance in the television series Stars In Their Eyes in 1993.

His career has sent him not only all over the UK but around the world, too. He has performed in places such as America, South Africa, the Far East, Central Europe and Scandinavia.

Andy said: "I met my wife on my travels in the Middle East and it was the best time of my life.

"I learnt so much from travelling and the best part was meeting my wife, of course."

Prior to this, Andy performed a Tom Jones tribute act for ten years and said that he will now be doing a Bon Jovi tribute in the new year.
