BOUNCE BACK: Apprenticeships are a click away
A NEW online service will match young people with apprenticeships in their dream careers.
Adam Pipe, 18, of Grimsby, who is completing an apprenticeship in amenity horticulture at The Grimsby Institute, helped launch the Apprenticeship Vacancies Online service at the Institute's Laceby Manor Golf Club.

The service will benefit young people, giving them valuable work experience and employers, saving them time, money and resources.
Adam said: "I think Apprenticeship Vacancies Online will be a really useful resource for other young people thinking of entering an apprenticeship.
"I'm really enjoying mine, not only because of the variety of subjects I learn, but also because it offers a different challenge every week.
"I'm currently completing my NVQ level two and hope to be moving on to level three soon, however, my long-term career goal is to become head groundsman at Newcastle United and look after the hallowed turf at St James' Park."
A recent survey by the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) – which is launching the online scheme – showed 42 per cent of 14 to 19-year-olds in Grimsby did not know that they could gain an apprenticeship in the financial sector, while about a third were unaware a career in film, TV and media could be pursued through one.
Nick Wilson, regional director for the NAS in the Yorkshire and the Humber, said: "With apprentices able to pursue a career in sectors ranging from conservation and tourism to the arts and media, the possibilities are endless."
Apprenticeship Vacancies Online is available via www.apprenticeships.org.uk and allows employers to advertise their vacancies, while prospective apprentices can search and apply for a range of positions.
With more than 180 careers available in 80 sectors, there is no shortage of choice.
