Archbishop's visit - video
DIVINE intervention may have played a part in the change in fortune for Grimsby Town FC – after the club received the blessing of the Archbishop of Canterbury.
As reported, hundreds of well wishers flocked to St James' Church, Grimsby, to receive communion from Dr Rowan Williams – the first Archbishop of Canterbury to visit the area in more than 1,000 years.

Dr Williams travelled to the area to mark the centenary of the death of former Bishop of Lincoln Bishop Edward King.
However, as well as meeting local residents and touring Grimsby Fish Market and St Aiden's Church, Cleethorpes – Dr Williams was delighted to take time out to don a Mariners scarf and enjoy a kick-about with youngsters at the Shalom Youth Centre on Robert Street.

“I think GTFC need more than prayers from the Arch Bishop to avoid relegation. We need somone who can perform miracles.”

“I was very privelaged to be at the service in Lincoln Cathedral on Saturday which the Archbishop presided at. What a wonderful experience and thrill for Christians in the area. His words, I think, will inspire many and hopefully we will see a renewed hope for the future of the Church as a whole”
