Aron on a roll after job offer - thanks to Telegraph campaign
THE future is all laid out for this Laceby teenager – who has secured a job at a flooring company after appearing in the Grimsby Telegraph.
Aron Finch, 17, of Keith Crescent, saw his CV printed in the paper as part of the Your Life: Your Future campaign, which is designed to cut unemployment in North East Lincolnshire.

Hands-on role: Aron Finch has got a job at IMS Floor Store after appearing in the Telegraph.
Bosses at IMS Floor Store, in Freeman Street, were so impressed with Aron's initiative that they offered him a warehouse apprenticeship.
Aron, who achieved nine GCSEs at Healing School, said: "I wanted to find a job in a warehouse environment so I could get the right experience but I didn't know how, so I put an advert up in the building of the Grimsby Telegraph highlighting my details, including skills, what I was looking for, a photograph and how to get in contact.

"Shortly after requesting permission to put it on a noticeboard at the Grimsby Telegraph, a reporter called me and featured my story with a number of other people looking for work.
"I wanted to get stuck in to a hands-on role so I could gain enough experience to progress quickly in the workplace."
Aron's story was spotted by Intraining employment consultants, who were on the lookout for potential recruits for IMS Floor Store's 27,000sq ft retail and storage space.
Aron, who is now studying for a Level 2 NVQ as part of his apprenticeship, added: "I know I've made the right choice by starting an apprenticeship at IMS Floor Store – I've learned so much already."
The success of the campaign is just one example of how the Telegraph has made a positive impact on the community – which we will be celebrating each day this week as part of Local Newspaper Week.
IMS spokesman Myles Shaw said: "Aron arrived suited and booted with a portfolio highlighting some of his previous achievements and singled himself out as having the right spark and since starting work he has not disappointed."
And Aron has joined the company at an exciting time, with new branch – CarpetRunnersUK.com – really taking off.
"I am very proud that in two short years we have gone from zero to nearly £1-million sales," said Mr Shaw.
"We are now the UK's single largest supplier of carpet runners, a narrow length of carpet designed to be laid in the hallway, staircase and landing.
"I think the research we undertook at the start has put us in a very strong position.
"We are now planning for the future and Aron could be an integral part of that – he has joined the business at an exciting time."
IMS Floor Store now has a staff of five, plus two directors.

“Ok, so that doesnt quite make sense.
Let me explain what the initiative is. Unemployment is at a record high and employers are trying to reduce thier staffing as this is the easiest way to cut costs, so there are fewer jobs avaialable then ever before. The government has funded a department to give 16 - 24 yr olds without qualifications or experience a chance to get a foot in the door. So the government are helping to get youngters into work and encouraging employers to take on workers.
What you dont seem to understand is that without the employers being able to employ apprentices, they wouldn't get a look in as the employer would be employing someone at minimum wage and so the employer would pick someone who has better qualification and experience as there are SO many people who are over qualified looking for minimum wage jobs.
So although i agree with the fact that the employer may be getting 'cheap' labour, you still need to acknoledge why this has to happen to give young people a chance.
You are obviously not young so you will not know how hard it is for school leavers to get a job when they leave with little GCSE's. In Arons case he can either work really hard to tempt the employers to keep him on after 6 months and pay him the minimum wage or if he's no good then they can get another, so the fait is in the apprentices hands.
Anyway, i have more apprentices to employ so..........

“Wrong. Thats why i said congrats aron, cos for him, yes hes doubled his wages. Your avoiding the issue that the company have took the cheap route out.......theyve took the legal loophole of paying him below national minimum wage!!! #SlaveLabour”

“So typical of yet another pessimistic person in Grimsby. What you haven't thought about is this poor lad had probably been on JSA @ £50 per week and now his money has doubled as well as an oppotunity to shine. It's attitudes like that why this country is in this mess!! #loser”

“Congrats Aron. However, no wonder they offered the poor lad an apprenticeship as opposed to a proper job. They'll be paying him £2.60 an hour!!! #SlaveLabour”

“Well done Aron, great to see someone taking initiative and trying to help themselves, rather than expect life to be handed to them on a plate.”

“Well done Aron.
A great example of what can be achieved by people who're prepared to get off their bums and not just sit back, expecting to have everything handed to them on a plate by the rest of society.”
