Claire Tilby, community colleague for the Holles Street branch, said: "We asked the council which parts of the area needed a bit of TLC, so we're cleaning them up and trying to make as much of an impact as possible."

Store manager Gavin Mears said: "This area is somewhere our staff work in, but many of us live here too, so it was no surprise that lots of people wanted to help."

“All credit to everybody at AsDa-main and AsDa-mini. Only recently a customer at each of the GY AsDa stores, I've been greatly impressed by the attitudes and efforts of everybody there -- and I'm a shopper dating back to pre-supermarket days. Good people and good training -- excellent.

As an aside... I'm amazed, 'BaWSox' -- Mon, Sep 17, 5:51p.m. -- that the TIG Monitors/PC-Police let you get away with KusØd, when 'IT' won't let me get away with the herb 'cÛmin' -- and I wonder why? !-)”

“As MatQuinn says, Kusod to the ASDA staff. But surely that's the council's job? Are we getting a reduction in our council tax as ASDA are doing the job for them?”

“Did they slap their own backsides as they picked stuff up? Kudos to the ASDA lot - not been in there for some time, mainly due to the absolute scum who tend to go on the rob in there from East Marsh!”
