'Award shows Nunsthorpe is great place'
IS the Nunsthorpe Estate now a better place to live?
Improvements to the estate have been acknowledged by environmental campaign group Keep Britain Tidy, which has handed Shoreline Housing Partnership one of its quality marks.

The Cleaner Safer Greener Quality Mark was awarded at level one – initiator level – after an independent assessment of the work undertaken by Shoreline, and partners Humberside Police and North East Lincolnshire Council, as well as Nunsthorpe residents.

It is the first estate in North East Lincolnshire that the housing provider has put forward for recognition, having invited Keep Britain Tidy to carry out an assessment of the neighbourhood.
Andrew Eayres, project co-ordinator for Shoreline, believes it shows the Nunsthorpe Estate is a good place to live.
He said: "It has suffered with bad press in the past, but this recognises that the area is an excellent place to live."

“We spent a really happy 3 years living on the Nunny, its a great place to live for young, young families with the spacious houses , good gardens, wide roads and pavements, playareas, park, library and the brilliant Surestart and Early Excellence Centre.
It needs devolution, to be able to make its own decisions and not have issues forced upon it, despite the best efforts of the local residents. When this country stops promoting the namby-pamby, do goody, politically correct reliance on state, but support self-reliance and self-respect, Nunsthorpe has the potential to achieve social and economic status and the good young people can stay and fulfill their aspirations, creating a really sound and thriving community. Its all there!!!
Now living in small terraced house, concrete backyard, front door onto road, no parking, narrow paths, wheelie bin in front window Ergggh!!
Oh to be back in Nunny with the space, the freedom, trees, grass, washing lines, Why ever did we leave, One day, one day!!!!!!”

“Did you receive your copy of the Linc Up pamphlet?
Ken Townsend,(former Mayor and local councillor) who is pictured above with this group was the winner of theatre tickets for a competition that was run by the Enviromental Group, this I find ridiculous as he is a member of this group so therefore should not have been eligible to enter this competition even though he does live on the estate”
