GRIMSBY Marine giant Cosalt has joined forces with Danish Engineering company APRO in a £200,000 deal to create new company Cosalt Wind Energy Ltd.

More than 20 jobs have been created initially, and the company is starting with a framework agreement with wind turbine manufacturer Siemens to supply the 20 or so specialist engineers for its offshore wind turbine activities, which are conveniently located near to Cosalt’s operations around the UK.

This is a major step in the area’s quest to become the premier operations and maintenance port for the offshore wind energy industry - and the business, which falls under Cosalt's Renewables Division, will be based on the Europarc.
