Police have confirmed that the A18 Barton Street at North Thoresby is now reopen following an earlier incident.

It was originally reported that a lorry had overturned between the North Thoresby Turn and Salters' Lane early this morning, closing the road in both directions between North Thoresby and Ludborough.

However, Lincolnshire Police said the lorry had in fact simply broken down, although the road remained closed for a number of hours, finally reopening shortly before 10am.

“Looking at the ruts in the verge when i drove down there last night it looks very much like the lorry came off road and dropped into the ditch!

why would the police need to report something contrary?”

“hang on at least i can read a map. The road between North Thoresby and Ludborough is called the A16. the junction of Salters Ln and the A18 barton street is 3/4 of a mile south west of Ludborough while North Thoresby is 2mile north of Ludborough.”
