Man killed in Gunby road traffic accident named

THE man who was found dead in his car on Sunday after it collided with a tree on Friday has been named by police.

He was Lewis Thomas James, 28, of Habertoft, near Alford.

An inquest is due to be opened later by coroner Stuart Fisher following the death near to Gunby roundabout on Friday.

Police officers were called to Station Road, Gunby, near Spilsby, at around 8.30am on Sunday after Mr James' grey Seat Leon left the road and collided with a tree.

It is believed the crash happened on Friday but the car lay un-noticed until Sunday morning.

Anyone who witnessed the accident, or who may have driven past the crashed car after it happened, was asked to call Lincolnshire Police on the non emergency 101 number, quoting incident number 92 of February 16.
