Band says bye-bye to Beef
LOCAL electro funk band the Supernormals will perform a goodbye gig to their bass player Mike Leaning at The Friary in Grimsby.
Mike, or Beef as he also known, will be going on his travels and he joined the band six years ago when they were known as The Huskies.
The five-piece is made up of Sara Peterson on vocals, John Williams on keyboard and vocals, Sean Winfarrah on guitar and Wayne Rigg on the drums.
Guitarist Sean said: "We will all miss Beef as a person, a friend and a musician but we know this is something he's wanted to do for a long while and we hope he has a great time.

"He has got great memories to take with him and we want to make his last gig with us a night he will never forget and a really great send off for him.
Mike said: "When I began my super journey with The Huskies six years ago, I could not imagine the crazy adventures, brilliant friendships and more than 250 energetic live performances that would follow.
"Choosing my favourite shows is difficult there has been so many but two stand out the most which were in my first year with the band playing a beer festival in Gozo a small Island off Malta.
"Waking up in the blistering heat having a dip in the pool before heading to the show with the gang was something else.
"Manchester Academy was another mad night by the time our 45 minute set was over – all I remember is the packed room jumping up and down with beer and sweat flying everywhere – you never get tired of those types of gigs.
"Our regular fans are a crazy bunch and make every show special and a joy to play.
"In short it's been a blast, I've learnt so much, had a life-changing time and gained some friends for life and I'm sad to see it end."
Supernormals will be supported by their old band The Huskies, bringing back two band members – Paul Williams on drums and Jason Drinkell. They will be playing old classics such as Gold Digger, Victim, Freaks Of Nature and Love/Hate.
The gig is tonight at 7.30pm and admission is free.
