“Having been a biker for 40 plus years it still saddens me to read of another death on our roads. I will not apportion blame to either party and give my condolences to the mans family.
I know from experience that this particular road is very dangerous but unfortunately there are many roads like it in the region.
I also drive a car and always look out for other road users , not just motorcycles. I agree with the previous comment regarding the speed that other road users approach junctions and just wish that they would slow down just a little. It frightens me sometimes the way that the standard of driving , and riding , has deteriorated over the last twenty years or so. Or is it because of the increase in traffic? Maybe the standard of roads themselves could be partly to blame for the number of accidents because I have lost count of the times when I have had to veer to avoid potholes never mind the times that cars have had to do the same. Are drivers educated to watch out for road conditions as well as other road users?
One day I will open the paper or read the news on the internet and NOT read of a fatality on our roads but I don`t think that this will happen , which saddens me even more.”

“I'm extremely sorry to read of another biker's death and I'd like to convey my condolences to the man's family and friends.
It made me think that such bad news is becoming an all too familiar occurrence and prompted me to run a simple search for 'biker' on the ET site and unfortunately my feelings were confirmed. I have no idea what the cause of this latest tragedy is but I think we should all have the words 'think bike' imprinted on our brains and that includes bikers themselves.
I do see out of town bikers going too fast but many more motorists negotiating junctions much too quickly and without thought, who could quite easily collide with a biker. I'm not a biker, but I know that I have taken deliberate steps to make myself even more aware of the possible presence of bikes when I'm out and about and find myself taking a second look at junctions whether exiting or entering, because I don't think I could cope with seeing a dead biker lying in front of me.
Good luck and best wishes to all bikers.”
