A LUCKY Grimsby bingo player scooped more than the top prize when she won the chance to star in a television advert.

Kelly Page, of Sydney Road, became one of 120 people to appear in new adverts for online bingo giant Tombola which will be shown before popular ITV soap Emmerdale. ​

The mother-of-three beat more than 700 applicants to get the chance to travel to Teddington Studios in London, where she was treated like a star for the day.

Kelly, 29 said: “I remember getting the phone call and thinking ‘oh wow’.

“I was very excited as I’ve never been to London before. It was absolutely brilliant.

“I went into a room where I got my hair and make up done professionally – I’ve never had it done like that.”

Applicants had to send a photo in to the Tombola website and explain why they would be suitable for the advert.

The winners were then sent to the studios for a day of filming and pampering.

Kelly said she is a big fan of Emmerdale and has enjoyed watching the new gay story line unfold between teenagers Aaron Livesy and Adam Barton – which includes scenes with Humberston actress Sophie Powles.

Kelly said: “It’s a bit saucy for Emmerdale, but great to watch.

“If I had the chance to be in another advert I would definitely do it – it was great.”
