Blossom gear up for Bowls battle
BLOSSOM Way climbed to second in the standings with a slam ahead of their showdown with Grimsby Billiards League leaders Clee Bowls.
The table-toppers slipped to a 2-1 home defeat against Ray Edmonds B, but still have a seven-point lead over Blossom, who moved up the standings by winning 3-0 at Ray Edmonds Vets.
Albert Potterton (R10) beat Daz Potter (Owe40) 200-110, helped by a 44 break.
Paul Simpson (R10) took the next, 200-89, against Blake Munton (R70).

Mick Hill (R60) completed the set with a 200-163 win against Tony Eglin (R40).
Ray Edmonds B got off the mark at Clee Bowls when Andy Savage (R40) beat Harry Putland (Owe20), 200-173.
Luke Maddison (R15) secured victory with a 200-180 triumph against Ivan Bramhill (Owe70).
Ray Charlton (Owe55) pulled one back for Clee Bowls when he beat Pete Norman (R100), 200-187.
Birds Eye A conquered Westlands at home, 2-1.
Bob Eagle (Owe10) set the ball rolling for Birds Eye with a 200-183 win against Stan Moore (R45). John Tomlinson (R55) took the next, beating Lawrence Major (R75) 200-132.
Nige Emmerson (Owe150), who racked up an 80 break, got one back for the visitors, winning the last frame 200-160 against Gordon Coulling (R60).
