Bonfire and fireworks displays in Grimsby and North East Lincolnshire
BONFIRE night is almost here again and there are plenty of spectacular firework displays taking place in North East Lincolnshire to mark what will be the 407th anniversary of the Gunpowder Plotters’ failed attempt to blow up the House of Lords.
So wrap up warm and take your pick from a selection of events being held over the coming days.
Pleasure Island, Cleethorpes
A weekend of fabulous fun awaits on Saturday, November 3 and Sunday, November 4 at the Cleethorpes theme park when it hosts its Fantastic Firework Display. The displays begin at 6pm on both days with rides opening at 2.30pm. Certain rides will close when it gets dark and the park will close at 8pm. Entry: £3.50 per person for admission. Ride wristbands are available for £7 (small children up to 1.1 metres) and £9 (over 1.1 metres).

The club is hosting a Bonfire and Firework Extravaganza on Friday, November 2 from 5pm at its Springfield Road grounds. There will be refreshments, a bar, and fairground rides to keep all ages entertained on the night. Organisers say there is no parking on site and ask visitors not to bring their own drinks, fireworks or sparklers. Entry: £2 (Adults), £1 (Children), £5 (Family of two adults and up to four children).

Waltham Windmill’s ever-popular fireworks event will be held on Saturday, November 3 against the backdrop of the historic landmark. Gates will open at 5pm, with the fireworks display beginning at 7pm. Besides the show, there will also be fairground rides and refreshments. Organisers say there is no on-site car parking. Entry: £2 (Adults), £1 (Children).

The resort attraction runs its Firework Specials on Saturday, November 3. The service departs from Kingsway Station at 5pm for North Sea Lane Station and leaves to return at 7pm. Passengers will be able to tuck into a barbecue and hot drinks, which are all included, while a bar will also be available for guests to purchase extra refreshments. Pre-booking is essential and tickets cost £6.

The village’s bonfire and fireworks will take place on Friday, November 2 starting at 6.15pm. The fireworks on display will be of the same kind as those for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebration.
All proceeds will go towards the upkeep of the cricket and football grounds. Entry: £3 (Adults), £1 (Children).

Caistor and District Lions
The event, on Saturday, November 3, will have a “Cool Britannia” theme, with a best-dressed guy competition at 6.30pm, a junior display with no loud bangs at 6.45pm before the main event, with the bonfire lighting at 7pm and the professional fireworks display at 7.30pm. Visitors will be able to tuck into hot dogs, hot or cold drinks and toffee apples. Parking is available at Caistor Yarborough School. Admission in return for a donation instead of a fixed entry fee.

The Fire and Steam Spectacular takes place at Ludborough Station on Saturday, November 3. The bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm, with the fireworks display beginning at 7pm. Trains will run from 1.45pm-4.45pm, with a special service running from North Thoresby at 6pm, returning after the fireworks display. Hot food will be available to keep spectators warm, with admission costing £2 or free to those who can show their train ticket. Normal train fares will apply on the day.

Cleethorpes Cricket Club
On Friday, November 2 from 7pm there will be a 15-20 minute professional display from Rainbow Fireworks. Fair rides on site, disco up to 10pm and food will be available. On site parking. Entry: £1 (Adults), Free (Children).

There will be a bonfire and fireworks display on Monday, November 5 in behind Baysgarth Leisure Centre, in Barton upon Humber. Gates will open at 5.30pm with the bonfire due to be lit at 6pm and fireworks commencing at 6.30pm. Hot food will be available from the Lions Catering Trailer. Entry is £3 per adult and £1 for unaccompanied teenagers. Under 16s free admission if accompanied by a paying adult

Louth And District Lions
The annual bonfire and firework display in Louth will be held on Saturday, November 3. Once again organised by Louth Lions, Rotary Club of Louth, and Louth Round Table, the display will take place at Deighton Close field. Hot dogs and drinks will be on sale during the event.

Market Rasen Racecourse
A bonfire and firework event will be held on Monday, November 5. Gates open at 6.30pm and the bonfire will be lit at 7pm. Hog roast, soft drinks and toffee apples on offer along with glow in dark bracelets and glasses. Entry: £4 (Adults), £2 (Children).
