THE Bottoms Up Appeal has received a massive cash boost, nudging it even further towards its £150,000 target.

The Telegraph-backed appeal is now well on its way to achieving its total target to buy six high-observation beds (HOBs) for Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital's colorectal unit – thanks to the generosity of these local fundraisers.

The latest donation, the proceeds of a sponsored walk organised by a group of women whose lives have been touched by cancer, has put £7,274 in the coffers.

In addition, a Cleethorpes couple have generously donated £450 raised at a recent family party.

As reported, the Pelham's Pillar walk in May saw 350 walkers take part in the 11-mile sponsored stroll through the Earl of Yarborough's private woodlands.

Meanwhile, Malcolm and Elaine Flower from Cleethorpes, who recently celebrated their ruby wedding anniversary, asked guests not to give presents but instead to make a donation to Bottoms Up.

Colorectal consultant surgeon Henry Pearson said: "We are obviously absolutely delighted with these latest donations. We are now well on our way to our target."
