CLEE Bowls strengthened their lead at the top of the Grimsby & District Billiards League table with a 3-0 slam at home to Birds Eye A.

Ivan Bramhill (Owe70) edged the opening frame, 200-199, against Bob Eagle (Owe20). Bob Camfield (R25) took the next, 200-180, from Gordon Coulling (R60). Ray Charlton (Owe50) completed the set with a 200-121 win against John Tomlinson (R45).

Ivan Harvey (Owe100) set the ball rolling for Birds Eye B, when they entertained Blossom Way, with a 200-191 against Albert Potterton (R05). Simon Timpson (R80) put the home team two up, beating Mick Hill (R60) 200-180. Saving the whitewash for the visitors was Keith Harrison's (R90) 200-183 win against Keith Fountain (R90) – the home side winning 2-1.

Blake Munton (R90) opened the scoring for Ray Edmonds Vets, with a 200-118 win against Lawence Mager (R80), when they played host to Westlands. Stan Moore (R50) replied for the visitors, beating Tony Eglin (R55) 200-196. Nige Emmerson (Owe155) secured the win for the Wessys with a 200-161 win against Daz Potter (Owe30), getting breaks of 46, 37 and 31 in the process.
