“Where does it state that the boy was not using the crossing in the correct manner?”

“I agree with comments below. However, the motorist is still obliged by law to stop and exchange details to report.”

“Agreed, they seem to do it everywhere though - they just step out into the traffic, usually whilst texting on their mobile phones.
Perhaps they should bring road safety lessons back into school and show some clips of kids being launched over hedges after bouncing off car bonets!”

“I hope this lad is ok but i have also seen the way the schoolkids run across the road here dicing with death, i think some of them need to learn the green cross code.”

“Since the the new traffic lights were installed this crossing has been an accident waiting to happen.I am surprised that there hasnt been a more serious accident yet.
For some reason the central refuge was taken away so when crossing the road you are at the mercy of traffic coming out of Sutcliffe Ave turning right onto Scartho Rd,yes I know you are supposed to wait for the lights to change to red but tell that to the school kids.”
