Braintree v Grimsby Town called off: Rob Scott unfazed about postponed matches
ROB Scott is predicting that Grimsby Town won’t be the only team in the Blue Square Bet Premier title race without a game this weekend.
Town’s joint boss was in philosophical mood after tonight’s televised clash with Braintree had to be postponed because of a frozen pitch at the Amlin Stadium.

Rob Scott isn't concerned about recent postponements.
And, with more wintry weather forecast to blow across the country in the next 24 hours, Scott believes that most will be in the same boat as the Mariners this weekend.
“There’s nothing we can do about the conditions,” he said.

“The forecast says we’re due more severe weather, not just here in Grimsby, but across the country, so I’m sure there will be many more games that fall victim to the weather this weekend.
“The postponements aren’t that much of a strain to be honest.
“If it was just us that was off, we’d be thinking about playing catch-up but a lot are going to be in the same boat.
“We’ve looked at it and there are eight midweeks between now and the end of the season that are free for re-arranged games.
“Two of them have been taken up by Gateshead and now Braintree, and then there’s FA Trophy games to squeeze in, so it could be that we play in six of those, but we’ll be all right.”
On the prospect of a free weekend, he added: “Christmas was an intense period and sometimes you need a little bit of a break.
“We’ve said to the players about keeping mentally fresh as well as physically. If they are to get that day off tomorrow then we’ve told the players to use that wisely and not to disrespect their bodies.”
