ARRAN Brindle and her England team-mates begin their ICC Women's World Twenty20 campaign today against Pakistan.

The Louth Cricket Club star, pictured, is part of Charlotte Edwards' squad in Sri Lanka for the tournament, which started yesterday.

England also face Australia and India in Group A as they bid to qualify for next month's semi-finals.

Brindle – who teaches at Greenwich House Independent School in Louth and plays Lincolnshire ECB Premier League cricket at the London Road club – has been a key part of the national team's success in recent years.

England's remarkable 21-match Twenty20 unbeaten run ended earlier this month with a three-wicket defeat by West Indies.

But Brindle and company remain amongst the tournament favourites for the eight-team competition.
