Hereford boss Martin Foyle pleased to hold Grimsby Town
HEREFORD United manager Martin Foyle says it was satisfying to "ruffle the feathers" of one of the best teams in the Conference.
The Bulls fought back for a draw at Blundell Park on Saturday after conceding Nathan Pond's early headed goal.
And Foyle, pictured, was delighted to leave North East Lincolnshire with a point thanks to Ryan Bowman's equaliser shortly before half-time.
"That was extremely encouraging for us when you look at the strength of the Grimsby squad and the players they've just brought in," he told the Telegraph.

"They've taken in Richard Brodie and obviously they've had Nathan Pond, so they've got the best players in the Conference – but they've still got to mould them into a team.
"Scotty and Hursty have done an excellent job, but we've come to Blundell Park and ruffled the feathers a little bit. Grimsby are a decent side and have got some of the better players in the league, but we got in amongst them."
The Bulls boss continued: "It wasn't a great start after two minutes and, although I know there is resilience in our group, you can't give good teams a 1-0 lead with such a soft goal.
"We certainly got back into it and I thought we played some good stuff and opened them up a bit.
"But our final ball towards the end of the first half wasn't good enough – the only time we put a decent ball into the box, we scored.
"Jamie Devitt came on in the second half and is a different type of winger.
"He comes off his shape and comes inside, so that caused us a few problems and he had a couple of chances.
"But after that it settled down and I thought our team shape was excellent.
"Brodie had a free-kick that he sliced wide, but probably looked closer than it was, but other than that I was delighted.
"We've worked hard but we didn't really create anything ourselves and it petered out to a draw.
"It was just pleasing for me that we've fought back against one of the best teams in this league.
"I'm delighted with four points from the last two games, Grimsby and Kidderminster away – I don't think we could have had two harder games on the fixture list at the moment."
