Business Minister launches £30m business pot
A £30 million pot to stimulate business growth in the Humber has been launched – with Grimsby at the forefront of Government thinking.
Business Minister Michael Fallon is fully aware of the role the town is now playing in offshore wind.
Launching the Regional Growth Fund money at an event attended by more than 340 people in northern Lincolnshire, he encouraged the use of a £10-million ring-fenced kitty, part of the Humber LEP and North East Lincolnshire Council’s successful bid, to ensure the supply chain is built up around the growing number of blue-chip operations and maintenance facilities that will service turbines in the southern North Sea from Grimsby.
