AFTER the wintry weather restricted Louth Town to just two games last month, the White Wolves are hunting for glory at Rossington Main tomorrow (3pm).

Boss Daryl Clare, pictured, is looking forward to getting his team back into shape and into the swing of two games per week in the Northern Counties East League Division One.

And he hopes the return to a busier schedule could prompt a late surge for promotion.

"The recent series of postponements has definitely affected our league position.

"But it could prove to be advantageous, with games in hand on most of our promotion rivals," said former Grimsby Town striker Clare this week.

"It has given some key players time to recover from injury but it has disrupted our fitness and match practice.

"We have managed to train indoors a couple of times to keep everyone together and the spirits remain high.

"But everyone is extremely keen to return to action and I am hoping the two-game-a-week schedule will suit us better and bring back some consistency."

The White Wolves have slipped from the top five in the league in recent weeks following a dip in form.

In their last match, on January 12, Clare's charges were beaten 3-1 at Pontefract Collieries.

Louth are now eighth in the standings.

Although they are eight points off a top-four berth, they have games in hand on the teams around them.

Clare added: "Our three- month run-in this season looks favourable and we will try to win every game from now on with attacking, open football and see if we can string a good run of results together.

"All the top-eight sides are capable of promotion and I still see us offering good value if we can keep everyone fit and interested."
