GREEN is for go! The latest round of the British Superbike Championship at Cadwell Park gets under way tomorrow.

About 45,000 motorcycle racing fans are expected at the Louth area circuit for the second time this year.

It is the first year the track has hosted two rounds of the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship (BSB).

And up to 200 temporary jobs have been created to prepare for Lincolnshire's biggest annual sporting event.

Most of the people employed come from the Louth area.

They have been working around the clock in preparation for the internationally- acclaimed race meeting, dubbed the Party in the Park.

The Cadwell Park round of BSB isn't just the county's best-attended sporting occasion – it also attracts the biggest crowd of any event on the British Superbike calendar, higher even than Brands Hatch and Silverstone, home of the British MotoGP.

Louth-based Honda rider Ryuichi Kiyonari, the most successful rider in the series' history, is aiming to build on his success and Woodhall Spa-based Steve Plater is set to make his racing comeback at Cadwell Park in the Metzeler National Superstock 1000 Championship.

Fans' favourite Plater also rides for HM Plant Honda and he makes his return just three months after breaking an arm and cracking a vertebra in his neck in a crash at the North West 200 event in Northern Ireland.

Cadwell Park circuit manager Jon Rush said: "We are anticipating a huge number of superbike fans to visit the circuit over the three-day event – the money they spend in the region, particularly on accommodation, is a real boost to the local economy, too."

Two superbike championship rounds take place on Monday.

Adult race day tickets cost £24 online, with children 12 and under admitted free.

Visit www.cadwellpark.co.uk or call 0870 950 9000.

Don't miss Motorbiking Bygones, on sale now and at the event, and see tomorrow's sports pages.
