Caistor Arts And Heritage Centre wants you as a new recruit
THE Big Society is alive and well in Caistor, where a team of 75 volunteers is helping to make the Arts And Heritage Centre a big success – and now you can join the team.
As reported, volunteering is nothing new for the town's residents, who are the driving force behind projects like Caistor In Bloom, the Multi Use Centre and the town hall – to name just a few of more than 60 clubs and groups.

And today the team is calling on more people to get involved in similar projects – adding the benefits are well worth the time and effort.
Volunteers are now able to benefit from free training as part of the Lincolnshire Volunteer Card, a programme designed to recognise and reward Lincolnshire volunteers.
Any freeview or freesat install for only £49 to one room, additional rooms £20 extra per room
Terms: Only covers standard install.
Contact: 01472800127
Valid until: Tuesday, December 31 2013
The free training includes five subject areas that are essential to volunteering, such as customer care, health and safety, safeguarding and equality and diversity.
And participants will gain a qualification recognised throughout the county.
At the heritage centre, the group has a wide range of experiences and influences to draw from, with volunteers ranging from the retired to students.
Together, the volunteers work in all areas of the centre, including the library, serving cakes and speciality coffees, organising art exhibitions, music and heritage events and generally helping out – both front of house and behind the scenes.
Centre volunteer manager Susan Nicholson said: "It is our resolution for 2013 to create more opportunities for volunteers, such as work experience for school leavers and working with local business as part of the Employer Supported Volunteering scheme, which encourages employees to make a difference in the local community through voluntary action."
