LET'S make Caistor lovely!

That is the New Year message from Caistor In Bloom chairwoman Deb Barker.

After enjoying success in its formative year, Caistor In Bloom is planning a bigger and better programme for 2010. Plans were revealed at a launch evening in the Arts Centre when the committee  outlined several new initiatives.

Judging of a Best Spring Garden will take place on April 19,while the summer competitions include Best Doorway, Best School Garden, Best Hanging Basket and Patio, Best Domestic Garden, and Best Commercial Premises, to be judged on July 12. The Best Edible Garden for the vegatable specialists will be on August 9.

"With exciting new categories this year, we hope many more local people will join in and enter the local Caistor In Bloom competitions," said Deb.

Entry forms will be available from the post office or from the secretary Jacquie Brown on 01472 859336 or by emailing caistorinbloom@btinternet.com

The group are also organising clean-up days in the town on Saturdays January 16, April 17, July 3 and October 16.

Volunteers should meet at the Multi Use Centre on South Street at 10am.
