“I went to school with Claire and have some fantastic childhood memories of our teenage pranks together at CGS, then at Uni in Manchester. As I read the story today I shuddered, poor girl, my thoughts are with you Claire, words cannot express how sorry I feel for you and your family. x”

“On reading the headline my thoughts were along the lines of those who have already posted. Appalling journalism along the lines of the Johnny Depp link non-story at the weekend. Apparently the remotest link to Grimsby, however far removed is worthy of a headline here. Really poor work. Here's one for the future, "Grimsby Connection To Rocket Man" The Telegraph has learned that a man from Inverness who ate fish fingers packed in Grimsby saw Elton John in concert 18 years ago.”

“What is the purpose of this mixed up kinda sorta half baked story?..Once again we have the G.E.T; going off on a tangent with a story that means absolutely NOTHING.It seems to me that unless a story contains salacious gossip those in charge down at the telegraph are not interested....Leave this family alone...'Parasites".”

“A sad but yet confusing story.
Mother Carol Berry
Brother Andrew Fields
Daughter Claire Toothill
It mentions Mrs Toothill and Miss Toothill. If she was married would it not be Mercante?
Lost me but I hope she is ok and safe from harm, whatever her name is.”

“I was at school with Claire at CGS, and last year got back in touch with her via Facebook. I only found out about this today. I am absolutely devastated for her. She is a lovely girl, and I can't put into words how shocked I am by this horrible tragedy that has befallen her and her family. Thinking of you, Claire.”

“Another tenuous link to someone who used to live in the area, and for what? This story has no relevance to this area. Are GT stuggling to find anything worthy to report on AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!! I know someone who's best friends sister's cousin visited Grimsby once 50 years ago and was late in returning a library book. Do the GT want my scoop?”
