Car company rallies round for poorly children
CAR logistics staff and suppliers went into overdrive to smash a fundraising target as part of a company's charity campaign to mark the 25th anniversary.
GBA Group chose When You Wish Upon A Star as the cause, with the hope of raising £10,000 to send a child to Lapland for every year it has been in operation. But when the amount was tallied up ahead of this winter's trip, the generosity and efforts of staff, customers and suppliers at the firm, that serves the whole supply chain from manufacturer to dealership, had raised £15,000.

A cheque was handed over as preparations were made for the December flight, with the company's marketing executive Alison Mitchell joining the group of "truly remarkable people and children" for what she described as a humbling occasion.
She said: "It was an experience I will not forget. Lapland itself is wonderful, but the trip was so much more than that.

"To see the effect on the children and their families by them taking them away from their everyday strains and trials of life was truly inspirational."
Among the fundraising activities were sponsored 25 mile walks, bike rides, golf and cricket tournaments and endurance challenges.
Captain Sam Judah, managing director of GBA Group, based at Meridian House on Grimsby's Alexandra Dock, said: "I wish to thank everyone for their generous time, effort and contribution in helping GBA to support such a worthy charity with the aim of bringing some magic to the lives of the children it supports."
