Carr Lane keeping up with the best
THERE is a familiar feel about the top of the Express Appliances Intermediate Snooker League – even at this early stage.
However, there is also one surprise package in Carr Lane Social A. Having made some new signings, they look stronger this year. Jon Leggett and Gaz Horsfall helped put their side into a 3-1 lead at Westlands D.

Derek Crosby and Joe Goodfellow then won their frames for a 5-1 win.
Also having a great start are Birds Eye, who with a 2-0 from Tony Jagger and Chris Madsen, overcame four-man Clee Cons A 5-1.

An early 2-0 and the highest break of the season so far, a superb 82 from Ashley Wright, pictured, saw The Gas Man to a 4-2 win over Webbonet.
Promoted Icing Cabin showed their class with another win.
Scott Gibbons, Stephen Singleton, Tony Aisthorpe and Terry Burns won 2-0, while Lewis Singleton and Jamie Barrett (50) shared with Paul Clark and Andy Aisthorpe as they beat Ray Edmonds A 5-1.
Peter Hogarth & Sons notched up their second consecutive 4-2 win, but they were indebted to West End's Alan Porritt who missed an easy black to put West End 3-1 up. Instead, they were 2-2 – and then Ian Hogarth and Mike Dowling beat Craig Rowbotham and Pete Leather for the win.
Gaz Dannatt and Stu White put Ray Edmonds S 1-0 up at Hainton B, but this was their lot as Chris Taylor, Neil Russell, Keith Atmore, Chris Fuller, Ivan Harvey and Bob Reeves took the remaining frames for a 5-1 win.
Top breaks
Ashley Wright 82, 22; Steve Donner 61, 21; Jamie Barrett 50, 28.
