Owen Carey Jones is the director of six films, including A Mind Of Her Own (2005), which won a much-coveted Crystal Heart award at the Heartland Film Festival, and two angel awards from the Monaco International Film Festival.
Neil Harrison, who produced A Mind Of Her Own and has worked as a film producer since 2003, will also be taking part in the session.
Stuart Hall, chairman of the Meniscus Film Festival, said: "Owen has been through all of the hard work it takes to get a film made and distributed.
"Meniscus is delighted that he has agreed to come along and share his tales of hardship and triumph with a local audience.
"There is a real groundswell of talent in this area and it is hoped this event might prompt one of them to have a crack at the big screen."
The Meniscus Film Festival takes place annually at the Whitgift Film Theatre, Grimsby, screening a range of interesting, thought-provoking and independent cinema as well as running a number of other events throughout the year.
The festival is run by volunteers, with local authority, Lottery and private funding.
Tickets for the event, which will take place on Thursday, May 27, are available from the Parkway Cinema box office, Cleethorpes, at £4.90.
Doors open at 7pm and the film starts at 7.30pm, followed by a question-and-answer session with Owen Carey Jones.
