“AreaCitizen, I agree (from the North Bank).. Despite the dislike of respective sides of the river from some quarters (usually illfounded opinions on Humberside), no one can argue with this being a step in the right direction. We do need Humber business to be more vocal in the matter, hopefully the Humber LEP can set up a transport executive which could encompass such matters.
The best news of this is that people can cross the river for work, whether from Hull to Scunthorpe/Grimsby and visa-versa. This can only contribute to the improvement of the Humber skills pool.”

“Well, I think we all have to thank Malcolm Scott from Hull for this.
Until he started his campaign the Bridge Board were quite happpy to see the tolls rise year on year, the local authorities kept quiet because their Councillors are also on the Bridge Board and the Chamber of Commerce campaign to abolish the toll was never going to happen because the bridge needs maintaining.
It needed someone from outside the establishment to shake things up and rattle a few cages to get things done.
Well done Mr Scott.”
