A LUCKY cat is licking its wounds after surviving a run-in with a car and being attacked by a fox.

Chester was rushed to Grimsby's The Blue Cross Animal Hospital in the middle of the night after he was spotted at death's door being dragged away by a fox.

He was already in serious danger after being hit by a car and the scavenging hungry fox was about to seal his fate when a passer-by noticed and rushed him to the charity's animal hospital on Nelson Street.

The poorly kitten with a broken leg is nursed by Samantha Cass at Grimsby’s The Blue Cross Animal Hospital.

Chester had been missing from home for several days and his distressed owners feared the worst. His details were posted on our website, www.thisisgrimsby.co.uk/yourmissingpets

Owner Karen Traill, of Grimsby, said: "It is such a relief to have Chester home. He is recovering well after his ordeal."

“Believe it or not, we have a stray cat and a fox that visit us every day, amazingly they seem to get on very well. I'm not a fan of fox hunting but take into account Labour's obsession with a repressive, surveillance society and their propensity for illegal wars as well as the amount of expense fiddling they got up to, I think I can live without these 'socialists'.”

“Jeeeezus!!!!!! I only posted at 6am this morning on the story about Ozzy being the best story the Telegraph can come up with and that it must have been a slow story day. I then asked the question "What's next, Cat found safe and well up a tree?" Christ alive if this is the best story that the GET can muster in the local rag then maybe they should consider making it a weekly publication!!!”

“bet David C couldn't believe his luck now his toff mates can go back to murdering rural foxes cos one urban fox hurt 2 kids.

but he doesn't want to overreact and ban their shooting sports and guns because of the "one off" taxi driver in Cumbria”

Conservatives pledging to repeal the fox hunting ban and need public support.
