Children's Charity appeals to public to 'Walk For A Wish'

When You Wish Upon A Star is asking individuals, families, groups and businesses to get behind its annual fundraising walk over the Humber Bridge to raise money to make special wishes come true.

The walk, with starting points on both the North and South bank sides of the Humber Bridge, is a level access walk on the pedestrian footpath of around 2 3/4 miles and will be held on Sunday 23rd June 2013.

Registration is in advance only, with all participants asked to raise what they can in sponsorship. Official sponsor forms are issued upon completed registration which costs £2.00 per adult and £1.00 for a child under the age of 12.

All proceeds from the walk will be used to make special wishes come true for the region's very deserving children. Says Joanne Heywood of the Charity, "Many of our 'Wish' families including the children have taken part in this walk to make a wish possible for another child. This year is no exception and already some of our families have entered. We hope they are joined by many more people, all walking to make wishes come true."
