Class act Stocks learning new tricks at Covenham
FORMER two-times British Championship winner Luke Stocks thinks his presence at Covenham Water-Ski Club (CWSC) will entice new jet skiers to the Reservoir.
The 25-year-old, a former Lindsey School pupil who lives in Cleethorpes, has switched bases to the Lincolnshire water after he was approached by CWSC water ski manager, Paul Rickett.

And Stocks, who has also won the National Freestyle Championship on three occasions, has been impressed by his new surroundings.
He told the Telegraph: "The people at Covenham Reservoir asked me to join so they could hopefully raise their profile and attract new members to the club.

"It is something that happened based on the success I have had on the jet over the years. I have only been there for a week but the facilities are superb.
"I have already been learning some new tricks on the water, and training skills that I already have.
"The water is a mile long and a mile wide. It is really ideal, big enough for people to get out there – there is also a nice clubhouse and kitchen.
"It is a club run by the members for the members and we hope people will come and join. There are only a few members at the minute but hopefully me going will help Covenham get more recognition."
Boosted by his new environment, Stocks will now continue his quest for a fourth national title in Leicester – the tour's third stage takes place at Sixhills Jet Ski Centre on June 9-10.
The 2007 North East Lincolnshire Sports Personality of the Year winner will be hoping for a strong return in that outing. The event finals are scheduled for September.
Rickett added: "It works for all parties. We have offered Luke a place to train, and the club are hopeful that new people will come and join us.
"Covenham is proud to help Luke out as much as we can, he is a special local talent. We have already started to help and will continue to do so."
Based at Covenham Reservoir, just eight miles from Grimsby, the 216-acre CWSC is available to local jet-skiers all-year round, boasting excellent facilities, both in the water and in the clubhouse.
