DOMINANT Clee Cons B potted their way to all six points – but struggling Stamford Homes A pushed the Roy Ling Mutual Grimsby Snooker Doubles League leaders all the way.

Bottom-of-the-table Homes put the premier section high-flyers under pressure but were left with nothing to show for their efforts.

All three frames could have gone either way – but Scott Ayres, Mark Goss, Steve Donner, Martin Dowling, Mick Bridge and Jon Steel bagged them all for the Cons, with Donner, pictured left, making breaks of 50 and 46.

Clee Bowls A, second in the standings, needed a crucial 2-0 from Gordon Dawson and Mick Chew to earn a 4-2 home win against Taylor Made Carpets.

The singles came from Roy Ling, Dave Ashmore, Paul Simpson and Steve Trott – who shared with visitors Ian Sadler, Fred Parker, Rick Pacey and Keith Tomlinson.

AMS (UK) are two points behind the Bowlers after a 5-1 victory against Hainton A.

Mick Ponsonby, Lynn Powell, Alan Brown and Darren Potter won the first four frames for AMS before Hainton's Dave Cox and George Bartlett saved the whitewash with a single against Phil Spillman and Martin Russell.

Clee Cons A hit back from 3-0 down to draw against Stamford Homes B.

Chris Madsen, Pete Leggett, Den Leggett and Glen Leggett won the first three frames for Stamford, only for Damon Gresham, Paul Lidgard, Jimmy Yates and Mick Goodwin to reply for the Cons.

HAINTON B's nine-match unbeaten run in section A was ended by Clee Bowls B.

Mick Parker and Ralph Dale won the only 2-0 for the visiting mid-table Bowlers.

Janett Newell, Mike Barrett, Nigel Francis and Dave Walton won singles for Clee Bowls B against Dave Tanner, Dave Boyington, Mick Dobson and George Clark.

Healing Men's are third in the standings after their impressive 5-1 win against West End B.

Dean Austwick, Terry Lloyd, Andy Stanley and Bill Childs were their 2-0 winners.

Den and Jamie Wallis chipped in with a single against slam-savers Walt Simpson and Tony Bywater.

Carr Lane C let a two-point lead slip in a 3-3 draw at home against Healing Legion A.

A 2-0 from Neil Batts and Colin Grey, and a single from Geoff Ford, and Jim McLachlan against Roger Cropp and Nigel Barr, put Carr Lane C 3-1 up.

But a last-board 2-0 from Dave Peterson and Bernard Mooney earned the visitors a share of the spoils.

Westlands B beat Cromwell 4-2. Glen Hostead, Tom Jackson, Dave Stewart and Dave Gunn all won 2-0 in reply to a 2-0 from Ray Revell and Art McDougal.

Standard A's Tony Eglin and Jack Bradshaw shared the opening two frames with The Eye's Roy Gibney and Alec Cowie.

But that was their lot – Ewan Robertson, Paul Rushby, Paul Smith and R Collins won the rest of the frames in a 5-1 victory for The Eye.
