CLEETHORPES Cricket Club hope the weather relents as they look to shine against Driffield in the Yorkshire league at Chichester Road tomorrow.

A fruitless trip to Leeds to face Yorkshire Academy last weekend summed up a disappointing season weather-wise this year.

Charlie Tomlinson returns after being unavailable last Saturday while John Zielinski returns in place of Andy Ellis following a prolific spell in the second team that has brought 15 wickets in his last three outings. Runs have been hard to come by on the green tracks at headquarters and with the wet forecast, this trend may continue.

Cleethorpes 2nd XI have no game after their early exit in the George Marshall Trophy while the 3rd XI travel to Outcasts in the Bob Welton cup.

After a poor batting performance in last Sundays 44-run defeat to Bracebridge Heath 2nds, Paul Hewstone includes Mike Chamberlain in an attempt to bolster up the top order.

Dean Cressey also looks to continue a fine run of form with Liam Dickens also promoted after wickets for the fourths.

Sunday sees Cleethorpes North Lindsey XI face Messingham at Chichester Road in an early start (noon) due to the England match while the Academy XI travel to Friskney in the East Lindsey league.
