“Outdated and incorrect news again published by Telegraph.
Perhaps proper journalists can be employed to provide accurate news stories?”

“You're joking arent you Marcus? Only bridges under 16'6" in height are signed, because everything above of that height is classed as an abnormal load (which all hauliers know about).

All the bridges on the A180 are higher than this from the carriageway to the soffit. Chances are that the load was in fact unsecured allowing it to move vertically, because it seems to have passed under the other bridges okay. And if was secured and had it not hit this particular bridge, it would have hit the Stallingborough Road bridge (which was hit around 8 years ago - you can see the patch repair done on the outside beam), which would have been much more disruptive.”

“Height restriction sign's should be placed on ALL bridges throughout the u.k. and it should be the drivers responsibility to ensure there Load is within the height restriction. but as you can clearly see in the photo no sign's are in place.”

    .
"And i would persume that the cost to demolish the bridge will be picked up by the haulage companies insurance provider :)"

Well i hope so because I and many other taxpayer in this county certainly don't want to be paying for there Error of Judgement. And we shouldn't have too. but even if its claimed on there insurance, we still end up paying more when we go for car / life/ property / contents insurance”

“Is there a height limit on these bridges. Whose footing the repair bill then?”
