Daryl Clare sees red as Louth Town are beaten by league leaders Athersley Recreation
PLAYER-manager Daryl Clare said he will take the positives after his Louth Town side acquitted themselves well against league leaders Athersley Recreation in midweek.
Clare's White Wolves went down 2-0 away in the Northern Counties East League – and need to bounce back in their next home game, against Yorkshire Amateur today (Park Avenue, 3pm).

Clare – who was sent-off late in the game – believes the way they played against Athersley gives him a lot of hope.
He said: "We matched Athersley stride for stride and went into every tackle.

"It is the best we have played for a while. It's been a great grounding for some of our young players and they are improving with every game."
Although they lost, Louth Town fought hard against Athersley.
They were hit with an early blow when Paul Goodhand came off injured. He was replaced by Frazer Findlay.
Louth hammered the ball into Athersley's box time and again and had several shots on target.
Clare himself went close to scoring, as did Carl Martin when his header very nearly went in.
Ross Brown put in a good performance in defence.
In the early stages of the second half, Athersley's Jason Bentley scored twice – which proved the difference between the sides.
In the 80th minute, Louth's man-of-the-match Nick Manders, pictured, was replaced newcomer Jack Potter.
Late in the game, Clare was shown a second yellow card and was sent-off.
Kennedy and Manders were also booked as the visitors battled on.
