AGRICULTURE: Fuel card business Fuelmate has signed a deal to help Lincolnshire buying group Woldmarsh Producers Ltd get discounted diesel.

Fuelmate, part of the 140-year-old Hull-based family group J.R. Rix & Sons Ltd, has created a branded fuel card for use on forecourts across the UK.

The card has been designed by Fuelmate to suit the needs of Woldmarsh members and is not available from the company as an off the shelf product.

It is part of the firm's commitment to supply bespoke solutions to organisations UK-wide that help them get the best deals on fuel as prices continue to rise.

Fuelmate manager Johnny Vintis said savings from the deal could be further increased with a larger uptake.

Mr Vintis said: "The more members who take on the card the greater the savings for everyone involved.

"The feedback we've had so far is that a lot of Woldmarsh's members are very interested and are looking forward to adopting the card.

"We have already seen a large quantity of members sign up."

Woldmarsh communications manager Katie Jarvis said the firm had approached Fuelmate after deciding a fuel card would benefit its 800 members, who farm 270,000 acres between them.

"We worked with Fuelmate to create a card with the all features our members wanted," she said.

"Johnny and his team have been very flexible and accommodating, and have designed a product specifically for us and the type of business we are.

"The interest from our members has been significant and we are expecting a strong take up from our members."
