A TEAM of young eco-warriors from Healing are converting a disused school pond into a haven for wildlife.

Four friends are spending the summer holidays transforming the Healing Primary School site as part of the annual Humberside Police Lifestyle Challenge.

As reported, teams of youngsters from across North East Lincolnshire are busy working on Lifestyle projects that will benefit their local communities.

Ruth Walker, Alice Howard, Sarah Scott and Lucy Howes, all 10, have dubbed themselves the Eco-Remix team.

The girls are hoping to divide the garden into six separate areas, include a bug hotel, a composting area and a bee and butterfly border.

To find out more – including how you can help get the project off the ground – see today's Grimsby Telegraph.
