ENTRIES are already flooding in for Barton and District Athletics Club's Deepdale Dash 10k.

The event takes place on Sunday, November 4 and is expected to attract runners from both sides of the Humber.

Last year's event was won by Cleethorpes-based double Olympian Tony Whiteman in 32.20. The strong field also featured Carl Ryde, Phil Taylor and Gregan Clarkson.

Barton and District Athletics Club has been running for nearly 40 years, but has recently undergone a big resurgence in numbers.

There is a junior section which caters for children from the age six and offers track and field training.

The road running section caters for seniors of abilities.

There is also a popular beginners' group.
