Defending champs in five-star display
DEFENDING champions Hainton B showed they are the team to beat in the Express Appliances Intermediate Snooker League – with an impressive 5-1 win at Ray Edmonds B.
Butch Reynolds and Chris Fuller gave the visitors a 2-0 lead. Chris Taylor and Neil Russell made it 3-0 before Mick Ponsonby and Pete Mitchell won a frame for Edmonds.
Alan Edmonds then knocked in a 54 break for the hosts but it was not enough – veterans Bob Reeves and Ivan Harvey won both their frames in a five-star Hainton display.

After Daz Potter and Lee Blanchard won the opening frame for the A team, Gaz Dannatt, Stu White, Steve Arnold, Nick Masters, Dennis Dannatt and Andy Stocks, who made a 39, break, fired the S team to victory.
Icing Cabin, potential dark horses for the title, won 4-2 at Birds Eye. A late 2-0 from Steve Singleton and Jamie Barrett clinched the victory.
Section B title favourites Westlands Heating cruised to a 5-1 home win against West End D.
After Richard and Paul Claridge drew with Dave Page and Euan Hunter, it was one-way traffic as Robbie Bell, Chris Yull, Keith and Adam Board took the remaining frames.
Another team likely to be in the promotion race is Express Appliances. But after taking the lead three times they were pegged back by Ray Edmonds D in a 3-3 draw.
