Discovery Centre cafe serves up a real treat
I HAVE a keen interest in the subject of Mrs Gell's letter in Viewpoint of Saturday March 9, as I have corresponded with North East Lincolnshire Council about the Discovery Centre.
On several occasions since early last year, there was indeed a serious problem with the management of the cafe.

As I have had some experience in catering, I wanted to put some positive input into helping solve the problems, and have been liaising with them and reporting to them on my experience at each visit.
Mrs Gell's experience on a Sunday morning was indeed reminiscent of last year.

However, I have only walked down there during week-day afternoons, when it has been very busy, and I have found a huge improvement from last year. I know that those in charge have put a lot of effort into trying to run the cafe efficiently and create a pleasant experience for all who visit. I sincerely hope that Mrs Gell's experience was merely a 'blip'. The Boating Lake area is the jewel in the crown of Cleethorpes, and one of the very few attractions we have left to us, considering the wanton destruction we have experienced recently.
P.S. I attach my own recent photograph, right, of the Discovery Centre – a factual one (Where did the red-roofed detached building come from?!)
