GRIMSBY Town Reserves were held 1-1 at home by a strong Leeds United second string last night.

Town took the lead courtesy of a great strike by Nathan Dixon after the break.

Following a goalless first period, the Mariners came out strongly after the break and went ahead through Dixon's stunner.

He won possession just inside the Leeds half and raced down the right flank, cutting inside to send a curling effort from the edge of the box in off the post.

Although it was a goal worthy of winning the game, Leeds hit back when Ross McCormack netted late on.
