As they announced their victory in a school assembly yesterday, the pair made a plea for ideas to help improve life for young people in North East Lincolnshire.
New youth parliament member Macaulay, 15, said: "I am ecstatic. It's a really big surprise and I'm really looking forward to representing the views of other students."
His deputy Jawid, 15, said: "We want to improve the reputation of youths in our area. We are trying to find areas where they can use their energy, like youth centres that are already running, and get funding in those areas."
The pair will attend three regional conventions, a national sitting and a debate in the House of Commons each year.
