Editor's Comment: Get the plans rolling!
EVERYONE in North East Lincolnshire must surely want to see Grimsby Town Centre as a thriving and vibrant shopping hub.
It is already pretty good. It may have its critics but actually the centre has a variety of pretty decent shops and Freshney Place itself has stood the test of time well – still looking pretty fresh and clean.
To add to the variety with a possible extension housing new stores can only be a bonus.
The council's plans, unveiled today, show that the present bus station will be relocated to ensure that any extension can go ahead.

Yes, concerns must be voiced and worked through – and the En-gage group clearly have some of those and it must be hoped that solutions can be found.
But on the whole, the plan should be supported.
The present bus station is not really a bus station at all – instead it is a collection of stops in an area that is congested – it is amazing there has not been a serious accident there as shoppers hop across the paths of buses and motorists drive in and out of the centre car park.
So let's now hope that these plans come to fruition – because, let's face it, there have been quite a few that have not made it past the drawing board!
